Do you need an an affordable tax attorney?
You only need a tax attorney if you are suing or being sued by the IRS criminal investigations division.
Otherwise, if you never filed a return, put down phony deductions, left out large amounts of income, or owe millions, you don’t need an attorney!
How Do I Know?
Tax attorneys are best for handling complex legal issues related to taxation. Tax attorneys must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and must be admitted to the state bar. Those are the minimum requirements for practicing law. Tax attorneys should also have advanced training in tax law, most of them having a master of laws (LL.M.) degree in taxation. Some tax attorneys also have a background in accounting. If you also need the services that involve complex accounting, you will want to enlist the services of a Certified Public Accountant. We can help here.
What about attorney client privilege?
In the thousands of case I’ve handled, I gave my clients the confidentiality they wanted. No extra laws were needed. So while law firms are best suited for courtroom matters, they are not best suited for your IRS collections or audit problems.
Business Owners
For many business owners a tax attorney can be as vital as their accountant, because good taxation attorneys can help head off tax problems before they even begin. They can see potential trouble spots for a business and advise the owner how best to avoid them.
What should you do if you have an IRS problem?
When a taxpayer finds himself in over his head with the IRS and the matter involves complex legal issues (most don’t), then they should certainly consult a taxation attorney. Taxation fines tend to snowball, and it is in the best interest of the taxpayer with complex legal problems to get them solved while they are still relatively small.
U.S. tax law is not only complex in structure but also changes every year. Good taxation attorneys will keep up with the latest changes and can advise clients accordingly.
Taxation attorneys may also be helpful when setting up trust funds and stock portfolios so the taxpayer doesn’t run into unexpected surprises on April 15.
We know what the auditors require, beyond the canceled checks and receipts. We can prevent and audit and successfully defend one. We know exactly what steps to take to prevent collection action. So while my debt service competitors list services for you from an IRS menu, discussing whether or not you can qualify, I can show you the unique solutions I’ve been practicing for over 35 years, that stop the IRS from running the whole show, making you a helpless victim. Do you want amazing results too?
